Gone with the Wind Suite

If you love the movie and the Old South, you will love this spacious multiroom suite.
It has a large, private bedroom with original hardwood floors that we uncovered and refinished. It has a lovely separate sitting room with a fireplace (non-working), hardwood floor & a very lovely original oil painting of Vivien Leigh by acclaimed professional artist Steve Sawyer (painted just for this suite). Rhett and Scarlett would have been comfortable in this luxurious suite.
There is a tasteful bathroom with a large ceramic tiled, 2-person shower with dual shower heads, sink with curved quartz vanity, Euro towel warmer, & thick robes.

In the main bedroom, there is a high-headboard king-size mahogany mansion bed. The closet has a small refrigerator, iron and ironing board & lint brush. There are stainless steel ice buckets and tongs in each suite, along with wine glasses, old-fashioned glasses and tumblers.


There is a lovely inlaid desk, a kiln-dried, camel-colored leather recliner, and a reading lamp.
The side tables are historic reproductions from a museum shop in Washington, D.C. There are also 2 more upholstered chairs in the main bedroom. There is a Smart TV/VCR/DVD in the large armoire, as well as a CD player and CDs.

Fresh flowers or live orchids are always in the suite. The drapes are custom-made, and the bedding is light and fresh. On the hardwood are matching thick Oriental rugs. This suite has a view of the lovely front lawn and a side view of the park's tree line. And of course, afternoon snacks are delivered to your suite daily on a covered silver tray. They are usually our signature organic filled oatmeal cookies. Guests usually ask for and receive the recipe.

"Gone With the Wind" accommodates 3, with the Savannah day bed in the sitting room, in addition to the king bed in the main bedroom. There is a $60 extra person fee for occupancy over 2 people.
